Newtown Twp Denies 85-Unit Housing Development Off Buck Road

The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors on Wednesday denied a controversial 85-unit development off of Buck Road and the bypass.

After numerous hearings, the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors on Wednesday denied a controversial 85-unit development off of Buck Road and the Newtown Bypass. The decision was unanimous, with all five supervisors rejecting the application for the Arcadia Green development on the 27-acre tract.

The project would have included a soccer field, community garden and dog park.

Nearby residents who opposed the proposal said it would add unnecessary development in the area, adding to traffic issues and creating congestion.
