Newtown Twp Police Chief, Manager Departing

Newtown Township Manager Kurt Ferguson is going to Lower Makefield in July and Chief Rick Pasqualini is retiring at the end of 2018.

Some changes are ahead for administration in Newtown Township. Township Manager Kurt Ferguson will be departing the township for a position in Lower Makefield, and Police chief Rick Pasqualini is retiring at the end of the year.

Ferguson's last day will be July 16. He is expected to announce his resignation at a Board of Supervisors meeting Wednesday. Ferguson has been with the township since 2012, coming from Hempfield Township in Westmoreland County.

The Lower Makefield supervisors last week approved his appointment. He will replace Terry Fedorchak, who is retiring. BucksLocalNews.com reports Ferguson was the top choice out of 35 candidates and was hired for a two-year contract.
