Newtown Yardley Road Improvement Project Starts Monday
The project will continue through early July. Find out what improvements are planned.

The Newtown Yardley Road Transportation Improvement Program Project will begin Monday, Jan. 18 and will continue through early July, Newtown Township officials announced.
According to Assistant Township Manager Micah Lewis, the project will include the following improvements:
- Road widening to provide one through lane in each direction along Newtown Yardley Road, with protected left-turn lanes and signal upgrades at the intersection of Newtown Yardley Road and Terry Drive/Lower Dolington Road.
- Installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Newtown Yardley Road and Friends Lane, and a closed loop system interconnection of traffic signals on Newtown Yardley Road at Terry Drive/Lower Dolington Road, Friends Lane and Penns Trail.
- Miscellaneous construction items, including the installation of curbing, subsurface drainage and line striping.
There may be minor temporary delays and lane restriction associated with the project, Lewis said. Construction activities will take place mainly between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Lewis said.

Newtown Yardley Road will be open to vehicular traffic throughout the improvements. Currently, there are no projected road closings associated with the project.
