Newtown's Pack 99 Completes a Successful Scouting for Food Drive

Cub scouts from Pack 99 collected over 3000 pounds of food and over $2500 in cash and gift cards for Penndel Community Food Bank.

Cub scouts from Newtown’s Pack 99 recently completed a wildly successful Scouting for Food Drive.

Thanks to the generosity of many in the community, the pack collected over 3000 pounds of non-perishable food, $135 in gift cards and $2,479.56 in cash breaking all previous records for the unit’s annual service project. In a friendly competition between the dens in the pack, the Arrow of Light Den edged out the others with over 2300 pounds collected.

The cub scouts were hosted by McCaffrey’s Food Markets at both their Yardley and Newtown locations. They also held a collection at the Newtown Grant Clubhouse. All of the food and cash collected was donated to the Bucks County Housing Group’s Penndel Community Food Bank. Pack 99 is chartered by the Newtown Grant Home Owners Association.
