Newtown's Troop 380 Completes a Service Project at Clark Nature Center

Boy scouts from Troop 380 braved the cold to clear debris from the Rhododendron Garden at Clark Nature Center.

Scouts from Newtown's Troop 380, braved the cold to clear brush, felled trees, and logs in the Rhododendron Garden at the Clark Nature Center. The work helped to free the rhododendrons from the debris and underbrush that were encroaching on the garden and impacting their ability to thrive. The troop also performed path maintenance on the Blue Trail at the nature center.

Kathy Pawlenko, Director of Newtown Township Department of Parks and Recreation said "the full day event made a significant difference at Clark Nature Center."

The participating scouts included, from left to right, in the first row of the picture are Justin Gabriele, Riley Davis, Ben Harris, Kyle Tunney, Ethan Waldner, Jeff Hogge, Stefan Cutrone, Rajan Patel and Scoutmaster E. David Barth. In the second row are some of the adults who also volunteered, from left to right, Mark Davis, Pat Tunney, Jeff Waldner, Terry Harris, Frank Gabriele, and Henny Geradts. Not pictured are Matt Finn, Daniel Forsythe, Jack Pinkstone and Rich Finn.

Troop 380 is chartered by Newtown Presbyterian Church.
