Noise Curfew Requested Near Scudder Falls Bridge Work

'Intense' noise is heard as late as 11 p.m. in the area surrounding the project, Rep. Perry Warren says.

State Rep. Perry Warren is requesting a noise curfew in the area around the Scudder Falls Bridge replacement project. In a letter sent Friday to the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, Warren asks that noise intensive work be completed by 8 p.m. each evening.

Warren, who said he made the request on behalf of the residents, said "intense" noise is heard as late as 11 p.m.

“Many residents who live in neighborhoods close to the construction site have early morning commutes to the New York metro area,” he wrote in the letter. “Also, Pennsbury High School buses pick up its students in these neighborhoods as early as 6:30 a.m. I realize that construction on this much-needed project needs to be completed, and I do not wish to impede on its progress. However, the intense noise to as late as 11 p.m. is disrupting the lives of our residents."

He said by limiting construction work after 8 p.m. to quieter activities, the project can continue on schedule while "affording some quiet to our residents."

Warren said he looks forward to action on the request.
