Northampton Businesswoman Announces Bid for Council Rock School Board

Michelle Held serves on the Northampton Bucks County Municipal Authority and is also a member of the Northampton Days Committee.

Northampton resident Michelle Held announced this week she will run for Council Rock School Director in Region 7, which includes Northampton voting districts 3, 5, 10 and 17.

Held has cross filed; Republicans and Democrats can vote for her in the May 19 primary.

She was motivated to run for a position on the school board after the recent capital planning process, “which highlighted the lack of updated facilities, limited student access to computers and deficiencies in two-way communication,” Held said in a statement

Held owns a consulting business that specializes in Internet technologies. She lives in the Holland section of Northampton Township and has three children. One is a Council Rock graduate; the other two are currently enrolled.

She is a Northampton Bucks County Municipal Authority director and also serves on the Northampton Days Committee.

If elected, Held said she will resign from the NBCMA board. “The need to manage the $214 million Council Rock budget is greater,” she said.
