Odd Couple Opens, Free Fro-Yo: Your Weekend

A look what's happening this weekend in and around Newtown.

What: The Newtown Arts Company’s production of “The Odd Couple” 

When/where: Performances begin Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Newtown Theatre and continue Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. There will be a Sunday matinee at 3 p.m. and two performances next week, on June 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m.

GO BANANAS SUMMER BASH

What: Celebrate the beginning of summer with some free frozen yogurt and family fun. Go Bananas locations in New Britain and Richboro are holding this event to benefit the SPCA. Get four ounces of free yogurt if you bring at least one dry or canned cat or dog food, training treat package or non-scoopable cat litter.

When/where: Friday at Go Bananas locations in New Britain andRichboro 

Cost: First four ounces of yogurt are free with pet food donation, plus there will be kids’ activities and a raffle to benefit the SPCA.

CYCLE BUCKS COUNTY

What: A non-competitive fundraising bike ride throughout scenic Bucks County to benefit the Doylestown Hospital Heart Institute and local chapters of the national Girls on the Run organization.

When/where: Saturday at 8 a.m. at New Hope-Solebury High School, 182 West Bridge St., New Hope

Cost: $55 in advance and $60 the day of the event 

SOUTHAMPTON RAILROAD PHOTO SESSION

What: The Southampton Railroad Station Society will host an evening photo session of Southampton Station along SEPTA’s Fox Chase/Newtown line. The station building and grounds will be lit by special high-wattage incandescent lighting for nighttime photography. In addition, the event will feature antique automobiles, a DJ, people dressed in period clothing and food. 

When/where: Saturday at 7 p.m. at 609 2nd Street Pike Southampton

Cost: $10 donation per photographer requested; proceeds from this event will go towards ongoing restoration efforts of this classic station (built in 1892).

KULICK’S KICKING CANCER BEEF AND BEER

What: A fundraiser to help a Warrington family struggling financially with a cancer diagnosis. There will be music, food, raffles and a silent auction.

When/where: Friday at 7 p.m. at the Central Bucks Senior Center, 700S Shady Retreat Rd, Doylestown.

Cost: $35; $10 for kids 12 and under. Includes, food, beer and door prize raffle.
