Oishi Expanding, Will Open Another Bucks Co. Location In 2019

Oishi, Newtown's popular sushi and Japanese food restaurant, is expanding. Owners are planning a new Doylestown location in 2019.

The owners of Oishi and KO in Newtown are expanding with the opening of a Doylestown location in early 2019, restaurant representatives tell Patch.

According to owner John Im, the new location in Doylestown is under construction at 641 N Main Street, across from Buckman's Ski and Snowboard Shop.

"It will be similar food to Oishi (see menu here) but we are really looking to expand on Korean cuisine and will have Korean ceramic BBQ tables as well as a large bar/lounge area featuring seasonal cocktails as well as wines/sakes/beers," the owner said in an email to Patch.

A target open date for the Doylestown restaurant is early 2019, Im said.

Oishi, located in the Village at Newtown shopping center, is wildly popular among locals for its sushi and Japanese dishes. Some Thai offerings are available as well.

The family's second restaurant, KO, also in the Village at Newtown shopping center, has acquired a following of its own. KO specializes in Korean cuisine. You can see that menu here.
