Looking for Love? Speed Dating Event Planned at the NAC

Looking for love and want to find it fast?

The Newtown Athletic Club is hosting its first-ever speed dating event on Aug. 14 at the Escape Outdoor Bar and Restaurant.

Singles can participate in two different age groups: ages 27 to 39 or ages 40 and up. Speed dating is designed to allow people to meet a lot of singles in a short period of time.

Ages 40 and up will check in at 5:45 p.m. and begin speed dating at 6 p.m. Ages 27 to 39 will check in at 7:45 p.m. and begin speed dating at 8 p.m.

The cost is $10 to participate and includes one complimentary cocktail along with food and drink specials throughout the evening. Date attire is recommended.

This event, to be held rain or shine, will provide a low pressure, professional crowd, consisting of people who are serious about meeting the right person, according to information from the NAC.

“According to some studies most people who attend speed dating events have decided whether or not they are interested in the person sitting across the table from them within three seconds of sitting down. So in reality it doesn’t really matter what you talk about, because the non-verbal communication between two people is what matters,” according to a press release from the NAC.

The NAC is located at 120 Pheasant Run, Newtown. This Escape Outdoor Restaurant and Bar is located at the outdoor pool complex.
