Some overnight snow headed to the Philadelphia region could make for a messy Friday morning commute.
Some snow is possible overnight into Friday in the Philadelphia region, and could make for a messy commute Friday.
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook, saying the accumulation will be light but could have impacts due to its timing. Less an an inch of snow is predicted, but it could be enough to make roadways slick as people head to work, forecasters warn.
The Weather Channel is predicting the snow will fall from about 4 to 8 a.m.

Slick road conditions caused some commuting problems Thursday morning also, including on Rt. 309 in Montgomery County, where a 20-car pileup shut the road down in both directions for several hours. Local officials said the crash was due to a flash freeze.
The National Weather Service is also watching another system approaching during the weekend.

The storm, possibly Sunday night into Monday, could bring accumulating snow or a wintry mix to parts of the region. More on that storm is expected later.
At this point, "there remains however low confidence regarding the precipitation types," the NWS said.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 41. North wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
Tonight: Snow likely, mainly after 4am. Increasing clouds, with a low around 26. Northeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Friday: A chance of snow before 11am, then a chance of rain. Cloudy, with a high near 41. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday Night: A chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a low around 33. Northeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Saturday: A chance of snow before 1pm, then a slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Northeast wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 40%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30.
Sunday: A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
