Pack 99 Collects 4,600 Pounds Of Food For Donation

Newtown's Pack 99 participated recently in Washington Crossing Council's annual Scouting For Food Event.

Cub Scouts from Newtown’s Cub Scout Pack 99 participated in Scouting For Food earlier this month. The cubs took a two pronged approach to collecting donations, they distributed and collected bags in their own neighborhoods and accepted donations outside of McCaffrey’s Food Market in Newtown.

They delivered more than 4,600 pounds of non-perishable food items and $1,200 in cash donations to the Community Food Pantry at the Bucks County Housing Group’s Penndel location.

Historically, Pack 99 makes their Scouting for Food Drive into a friendly competition. This year special recognition to the Webelos 1 den which collected the most with 1900 lbs. The first year Tigers had 100% den participation. Jac Chapek individually collected the most for the pack with just under 500 lbs.
