UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA — Upper Makefield Township has been awarded a $3,100 PECO Green Region grant to help improve outdoor lighting at the municipal complex and in township parks.

The grant will fund new energy-efficient LED lighting at both township park pavilions and snack sheds and restrooms, along with upgrading exterior walkway lighting around the township building on Eagle Road. These improvements will provide brighter lighting, increased safety and visibility, and long-term savings through reduced maintenance and energy costs.

Since 2004, the PECO Green Region program has awarded municipalities and non-profit organizations in southeastern Pennsylvania more than $3.15 million for almost 400 individual open space improvement projects.
