A pedestrian safety event will be held this Saturday, June 4 in Newtown Borough.

A pedestrian safety event will be held this Saturday, June 4 in Newtown Borough.
The event, sponsored by the Newtown Borough Traffic Committee, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Organizers say they the event is aimed to promote the borough’s walkability, while offering coupons, and chances to win raffle baskets.

To participate, stop by 23 N. State Street and pick up a booklet with the names of the local shops that will be participating by offering coupons and freebies. Drawings for the raffle baskets will be held at the end of the event.
It should be a nice day for an outdoor event. The weather forecast is calling for sunshine and highs in the low 80s.

Also Saturday in Newtown, the annual Strawberry Festival is being held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Historic Presbyterian Church on Sycamore Street.
