Pennsylvania's Best Suburbs Ranked

Where are Pennsylvania's best suburbs? A new analysis explores just that.

What defines a great community? According to the folks at Niche.com, a low crime rate, quality schools, access to jobs and an affordable cost of living all play big roles. Based on those factors and more, the website has released a rankings report of the best Pennsylvania suburbs to live in for 2017.

To achieve its ranking calculations, Niche drew data from the U.S. Census Bureau, FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other sources.

When the numbers were crunched, Chesterbrook, located in Chester County, was found to be the best suburb in Pennsylvania. It was also ranked as the second best suburb in all of the country.

On the national level, Carmel, Indiana, earned first-place honors. Other Pennsylvania communities that made the national list include: Penn Wynne (6th); Devon (10th); Franklin Park (17th); Mount Lebanon Township (43rd); Ardmore (45th); Charlestown Township (51st); Narberth (54th); Upper Uwchlan Township (62nd); and O'Hara Township (78th).
