Pineville Tavern To Open Philly Location

The new location is set to open in Philly's Fishtown area this spring.

Bucks County's Pineville Tavern is branching out into the big city soon, as father and son restaurateurs Andrew and Drew Abruzzese are planning to open a second Pineville location in the Fishtown area of Philadelphia in spring next year.

The Abruzzese's are working with real estate entrepreneur Allan Domb of Allan Domb Real Estate to open the new location, which will be simply called "The Pineville."

The new location will be a two-story, 2,500-square foot bar, restaurant and lounge located in the space formerly known as Yesterday’s Tavern at 2448 E. Huntington St., Fishtown.

Yesterday's will undergo a full renovation with the help of architect and restaurateur Jim Hamilton, who owns Hamilton’s Grill Room in Lambertville, and will feature over 80 seats, Drew Abruzzese said.

The Pineville's menu will differ from Pineville Tavern's, but will feature what Drew Abruzzese calls the eatery' "greatest hits" including House-made Ravioli, “Bawlmer” Crab Cakes, Fried Chicken, BBQ Ribs, The Million Dollar Bacon Burger, and more. The Pineville will also feature locally-brewed craft beers on tap, Fishtown favorites such as Miller High Life and PBR, as well as Schaefer, Schmidt’s and Schlitz, which were some of the only locally-brewed beers available when the Abruzzeses first took over The Pineville Tavern in 1989. The Abruzzeses say the menu will be "elevated tavern fare" that will appeal to all kinds of people from millennials to longtime Fishtown residents.

The Fishtown location will be open seven days a week with dinner being Monday through Friday. Saturday lunch, Sunday brunch, and family-style Sunday dinners beginning early on Sunday afternoons. The restaurant will also have a takeout window open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. that will serve hand-carved sandwiches and boxes of fried chicken and ribs. The entire menu will be available during dinner at the takeout window. Beer and wine will also be available for take-out.

While you wait for the new location to open in spring, head to the Pineville Tavern at 1089 Durham Road in Pineville where the restaurant will be serving up lobster-based specialty dishes every Tuesday night throughout the winter.
