The work detail had to be postponed because recent rains have thwarted the participation of a key sub-contractor.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA – The planned Friday-Saturday closure of two I-295 northbound lanes on the New Jersey approach to the Scudder Falls Toll Bridge is being postponed, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission announced on Tuesday.

The scheduled dual-lane closure will be rescheduled at a later date.

The lane closures would have limited I-295 NB approaching the bridge to a single lane on Friday and Saturday, including the critical evening peak-commuting period on Friday. With the cancellation, the busy highway segment now will be fully operational Friday and Saturday.

The planned single-lane travel pattern on I-295 NB was announced Monday. The commission said the travel restriction was needed for an uninterrupted “high-intensity construction cycle” (HICC) involving grinding and resurfacing of a bump in the I-295 NB highway surface before the toll bridge.

The work detail had to be postponed because recent rains have thwarted the participation of a key sub-contractor.
