Police Break Off Pursuit In Upper Makefield; Arrest Impaired Driver

UPPER MAKEFIELD, PA - Officers had a busy night, first with a short vehicle pursuit and then with a reckless driver.

As Monday evening began, officers were following a vehicle that was wanted in connection with an aggravated assault out of Trenton, N.J. Initially, officers were able to stop the vehicle on Pineville Road. However, the vehicle sped away leading officers on a short vehicle pursuit that was terminated due to safety, police said.

At 9:50 p.m., a motorist called 911 after observing a reckless driver traveling north on Taylorsville Road out of Yardley Borough. Officers located the vehicle and stopped it near Route 532. A further investigation led to the arrest of the driver for suspected DUI and a search warrant being filed for the vehicle, police said.

“We would like to thank that motorist for calling 911 as we were able to get an impaired driver off the street,” said police.
