Police To Resume Search Of Tyler Park For Missing Woman

The renewed effort to search the park is not a result of a break in the case, however, police tell Patch.

Authorities will resume a search of Tyler State Park on Thursday to look for woman who went missing there last month.

Police and searchers will be looking for 21-year-old Lindsey Piccone, who went missing Sept. 6. Her abandoned car was found at the state park in Newtown Township.

Bensalem Police tell Patch there has been no break in the case to prompt the search to resume. Rather, it's a renewed effort to try and locate the missing woman, said Fred Harran of the Bensalem Township Police Department.

Piccone's family released an emotional video Tuesday — six weeks after she went missing. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to her safe return.

The young woman was reported missing by her parents, Jeannette and Paul Piccone, also of Bensalem.

According to her family, from the outside, everything seemed normal in Piccone's life in the days leading up to her disappearance. She left a "vague" note behind, according to a family member who spoke in the Facebook video.

The note "implied a permanent goodbye," but it was not clear if she meant she planned to harm herself or if she was running away. She did not bring items with her to indicate a long-term life change, her family said, adding her disappearance seemed "irrational" and "spontaneous."

Eric Ihlein, a DCNR ranger who has served as a spokesperson during the search, has previously said officials believe there is no public threat at the park.

According to Ihlein, Piccone came to Tyler Park frequently with her dogs. But her dogs and her cell phone were not with her when she went missing, Ihlein said. A search throughout Bucks County and other areas she has been known to visit frequently has also been conducted.

Piccone is described as being 5 feet, 3 inches tall, 120 pounds and was last seen wearing a black tank top.

If anyone has information about her whereabouts, call Bensalem Police at (215) 633-3719.
