Popular Bucks Co. Pet Store Celebrating 25th Year Saturday

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A premium pet store where dogs and cats rule will celebrate its 25th anniversary this weekend, and the public is invited to join the fun.

On Saturday, Dogs & Cats Rule will be giving away gift bags to the first 50 customers at each of its stores, and throughout the day will be offering 25 percent off everything in the store (limit two per item). In addition, there will be demonstration tables, raffles, freebies, and lots more.

A ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 11 a.m. at its Newtown store, where it all began a quarter of a century ago. And WPST 94.5 FM will be at the store from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. playing music and offering swag.

Dogs & Cats Rule was founded in 2001 by George Parente and his sister JoAnn on the philosophy that pet parents should have access to the very best of natural and organic diets.

‍George spent his entire life as a small business owner and has owned a variety of businesses over the last 50 years, but has found his true calling as an independent pet retailer.

George and JoAnn opened their first location in Newtown and have been growing ever since. Over 20 years later, Dogs and Cats Rule has seven stores serving Bucks County, Montgomery County, and Mercer County, N.J.

Its Bucks County stores are located in Doylestown (140 Veterans Lane), New Hope (Logan Square), and Newtown (Village at Newtown).
