With the approval of the board of supervisors, the fried chicken eatery is planning to set up shop at the Village at Newtown shopping center.
The new eatery will predominantly be a call in and takeout service although there will be a limited amount of indoor seating provided, land use attorney Ed Murphy told the supervisors.

Rated as the best fried chicken restaurant in Philadelphia in 2018, the eatery is known for its hand breaded fried chicken sandwiches, its chicken tenders, chicken and waffles, 10 pack of dark meat, drumsticks, thighs, tater tots, wings, cornbread muffins, pimento cheese dip, and house made sauces.

(Love and Honey Chicken)
In 2017, Todd and Laura Lyons opened the first Love and Honey Fried Chicken at 1100 North Front Street in Philadelphia.
“We’re excited to be opening in Newtown. We have a very Americana menu. It’s a chef-driven, fast-casual restaurant. We are not fast food,” co-founder Laura Lyons told the supervisors. “Both my husband and I are classically trained chefs. We have worked in the industry pretty much our whole lives and careers. We always wanted to open a restaurant together so here we are seven-and-a-half years later.”
Love & Honey Fried Chicken will also be “spreading the love” with 13 new franchise locations including University City, South Philly, King of Prussia, Ardmore, Marlton, NJ, and Washington D.C.
“Our chicken is hand-breaded and fried to order. We pay attention to details. Three sweet pickles on the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - why? So that there is a pickle in every bite. That's the love part,” Lyons explains. “The love we have for each other is how this all started, but when it comes to our business, love is the thought and the attention we give to each item, each order, and each customer.”
