Popular 'Touch A Truck' In Newtown Township Postponed Again
For the second time, the Newtown Township Parks and Recreation Department has been forced to postpone the event due to the weather.

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Rain has again forced the postponement of Newtown Township's popular "Touch A Truck" event, which had been rescheduled from Thursday, March 28 to Monday, April 1 at Veterans Park.
"Due to the weather, we are postponing Touch A Truck again," wrote program coordinator Matt Zipin in an email to Patch. "We will let the community know when we decide on a new date."
There's a 90 percent chance of rain today (Monday, April 1) with a high near 51. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and a half of an inch of rain is possible before 1 p.m.

The annual free event gives youngsters an opportunity to see, touch, and climb aboard the big, hardworking trucks they see driving around the township.
Showcasing their vehicles at this year's event will be the Newtown Township Public Works Department, Leck Waste Services, SEPTA, Newtown Ambulance, Newtown Township Police, Newtown Fire Rescue, the U.S. Postal Service, among others.
