NEWTOWN BOROUGH, PA — “Lawrence of Arabia” will make a rare appearance on the big screen – with a twist – at the Newtown Theatre on Wednesday, May 15 at 10 a.m.

Since its four hours long, this screening will feature a 90-minute intermission at the halfway mark, allowing ticketholders time to enjoy lunch at one of Newtown’s nearby restaurants. Make a day of it in historic Newtown.

The winner of seven Academy Awards, including “Best Picture” and “Best Director,” “Lawrence of Arabia” features Peter O’Toole as British Lieutenant T.E. Lawrence, who is sent to Arabia to find Prince Faisal and serve as a liaison between the Arabs and the British in their fight against the Turks. With the aid of native Sherif Ali (Omar Sharif), Lawrence rebels against the orders of his superior officer and strikes out on a daring camel journey across the harsh desert to attack a well-guarded Turkish port.
