Renowned Chefs To Descend Upon Newtown For BBQ Cook-Off
An all-star BBQ bonanza will be held later this month in Newtown as a fundraiser for Lubavitch of Bucks County.

An all-star BBQ bonanza will be held later this month in Newtown.
The fifth annual Bubby's Cook-Off will be held on June 13 at the Glazier Jewish Center. It will feature a group of renowned chefs and acclaimed judges. The event, a fundraiser for Lubavitch of Bucks County and the Philadelphia Friendship Circle’s corporate supporters and youth leadership, begins at 6 p.m.
The evening will feature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and of course, BBQ. Dinner will be followed by scotch whiskey-paired BBQ selections and an awards ceremony. Tickets are $200.

Participating chefs include:
- NYC’s Crowned Brisket King, Chef Izzy Eidelman of Izzy's Brooklyn Smokehouse
- Chef Yos of Hassid + Hipster in South Beach, Florida
- Chef Chad Rosenthal of The Lucky Well and Bánh Street in the Philadelphia suburbs
- Chef Matt Martin of More than Q in Easton
The four-course chef's tasting will begin at 7:15 p.m., with each chef presenting one course to the gala participants and celebrity judge panel, which includes James Beard Award-winning and globally-acclaimed chef, Marc Vetri; John Marcus, Emmy-Award winning producer of BBQ Pitmasters; Tuffy Stone of Cool Smoke BBQ in Lynchburg, VA; and media personality, chef and restaurant consultant, Hope Cohen.

Each one of the chefs’ creations will be paired with a pair of drinks made with eight-year-old Boondocks Kentucky Bourbon as well as Boondocks American Whiskey.
"We are excited for another year of delicious BBQ made by some of the most talented chefs in the U.S. using kosher recipes," said Rabbi Yudy Shemtov. "Last year's event was a huge success, and with this year's new and returning pitmasters, we're looking forward to our best cook-off yet. Guests can even watch the chefs work their magic on a 24-foot smoker while enjoying some original drinks from our alfresco bar before the night's main event begins."
Attendees should wear casual cocktail attire. The Glazier Jewish Center is located at 25 North State Street, Newtown.
