Resident Charged With Assault, Fraud Reported In Newtown Township
Police conduct truck safety detail with Newtown Borough and Upper Makefield.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between June 9 and June 14:
Friday, June 9
- At approximately 9:45 a.m. police were contacted by a Newtown Township resident about a theft. As a result of an investigation, the theft was determined to be unfounded.

- Police stopped a KIA sedan at approximately 9:30 p.m. for committing a vehicle code violation in the area of State Street. As a result of the investigation, the driver was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant out of Falls Township. The subject was transported to Falls Township Police Department without incident.
Monday, June 12
- Shortly after 2:45 a.m. police were contacted in regards to an assault that occurred at a Newtown Township residence. As a result of an investigation, one subject was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault. The subject was remanded to Bucks County Corrections in lieu of bail.
Tuesday, June 13

- At approximately 9 a.m. police were dispatched to a Wrightstown Township business for the report of an unauthorized use of a vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
- At approximately 12:15 p.m. police were contacted by a Newtown Township resident in reference to fraud. The resident explained that she had received a letter in the mail from PennDOT notifying her of an address change on her driver’s license. The resident resolved the matter with PennDOT and also contacted her bank and the credit bureaus about her identity being compromised. There was no other suspicious activity found and no financial loss occurred.
Wendesday, June 14
- The Newtown-Makefield Truck Enforcement Unit conducted a commercial vehicle safety detail in the area of Washington Avenue in Newtown Borough. The unit is made up of officers from Newtown Borough, Newtown Township, and Upper Makefield. During the detail, 12 trucks were stopped and inspected. Five citations and 14 warnings were issued for violations that were found. One truck and two drivers were placed out of service and one truck was towed.
