Residential development proposals in Bucks County more than doubled from 2014 to 2015, a report by the Bucks County Planning Commission reveals.
According to the report, in 2015 a total of 1,669 residential units were reviewed by the commission. In 2014, 780 residential units were reviewed.
"For the second time in nine years, proposed single-family detached lots regained the typical dominant position amongst other residential units," according to the planning commission report.

In 2015, 656 single-family units were proposed, an increase of 569 percent from the 2014 figure of 98 single-family units. "While this is a significant upward trend in singlefamily detached proposals, the 2015 figure is considerably less than annual amounts proposed since the early 1980s," the report said.
There were 608 multifamily units reviewed. Attached and semidetached units also experienced an increase over 2014.

"Multifamily units, along with attached and semidetached units, help to meet the demand of first time homebuyers, empty nesters, and persons needing more affordable housing. The total number of multifamily, attached, and semidetached units accounted for over 60 percent of residential units proposed in 2015," according to the report.
Two age-qualified developments with a total of 112 units were proposed in 2015.
"This is the first time in five years that any age-qualified units were proposed, ending a continued reduction in proposals of these types of units," according to the report.
Zero mobile/manufactured homes were proposed in 2015.

- Multifamily 608 (397 in 2014)
