Restaurant And Sports Bar Opens At The Village At Newtown

NEWTOWN, PA — The new P.J. Whelihan’s is officially open for business at the Village at Newtown Shopping Center.

The restaurant opened its doors on Monday inside the former Iron Hill Brewery located between Bomba’s Tacos & Tequila and Ulta Beauty.

Based in Westmont, New Jersey, P.J.'s is part of the PJW Restaurant Group, which also operates The Pour House, Treno Pizza Bar and the ChopHouse.

“We’ve been very intentional about finding the right opportunity in this market, and Newtown stood out for all the right reasons,” said CEO of PJW Restaurant Group Jessica Breslow. “Opening our doors this week — at one of the most exciting times for Philadelphia sports — makes it even more special.”

For the past month, the New Jersey-based restaurant group has been busy transforming the former Iron Hill Brewery into its newest pub, family restaurant and sports bar.

The new P.J. Whelihans has the same look and feel of its other Delaware Valley locations, from the warm wood tones to its color scheme to its big screen TVs, allowing sports fans to catch all the sports action.

Food wise, Whelihan’s is known for its famous wings (classic or boneless) with a choice of 10 different sauces, from mild to zippy and sweet to hot, hot, hot with scorpion and flamin pickleback.

The menu also features burgers, sandwiches, handheld, fries, salads and mains ranging from a fajita bowl, fish and chips, and boneless wings to fired-grilled salmon and a Roadhouse Rack of Ribs.

The restaurant also features seasonal cocktails, ciders and teas and an expansive selection of bottled and draft beers.

This is P.J.’s second location in Bucks County. It also has a location in Doylestown at the Cross Keys Place Shopping Center.
