Retail Theft, Assault Under Investigation In Newtown Township
Police are also looking for the man who stole a car from the parking lot of the 7-Eleven Store on Sycamore Street.
NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA - The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents and arrests between October 18 and 23:
October 18
- Police were dispatched to Lululemon shortly after 1 p.m. for the report of a retail theft. The total value of loss was more than $3,000. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
- At approximately 8:45 p.m. police were dispatched to the area of Council Rock High School North for the report of an assault. The investigation is currently ongoing.
- Police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence at 10:20 p.m. for the report of a burglary. An investigation is ongoing.
October 19

- At approximately 2:45 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Ford pick-up truck for committing a vehicle code violation at Swamp Road and Liberty Drive. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending for the operator and passenger.
October 20
- Shortly after midnight, police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of an Infiniti SUV for committing a vehicle code violation at Second Street Pike and Swamp Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
- At approximately 5:48 a.m. police responded to the 7-Eleven store for the report of a vehicle theft that had just occurred. The investigation revealed a man stole a grey 2020 4-door Toyota Camry left unattended and running in the parking lot. Investigators would like the public’s assistance with identifying the individual.

- Around 4:30 p.m. a Newtown Township resident contacted police to report a theft of political signs from his property. There were no leads, and a report was generated to document the incident.
October 21
- At approximately 1:30 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Nissan Altima for committing a vehicle code violation at the Newtown Bypass and State Street. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were discovered and seized as evidence. Charges are pending.
October 23
- At approximately 9:15 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on the driver of a Jaguar sedan for committing a vehicle code violation at Durham Road and Wrights Road. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer detected the odor of alcohol. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
