Richboro Man's Heart Failure Caused Bedminster Crash: Report

Reports say William Meiers, former Bucks County Community College English professor, died before the crash happened.

A Richboro man died from cardiac arrest before crashing his vehicle in Bedminster, according to the Bucks County Intelligencer.

William A. Meiers, 60, of Richboro, suffered from cardiac arrest before 10 a.m., Nov. 6, the Intelligencer reports.

The outlet reports Meiers passed through the Exxon gas station at state Routes 313 and 113 parking lot when the cardiac arrest happened, which caused his vehicle to hit an Jeep Liberty stopped on Route 113. Police told the Intelligencer Meiers died before the crash happened.

The Intelligencer reports Meiers was pronounced dead after being taken to Doylestown Hospital.

A New Jersey woman who was driving the Jeep Liberty was not injured in the crash, the outlet reports.

Meiers was a former Arcadia, Princeton, and Bucks County Community College English professor, according to Meier's obituary.

A scholarship fund has been established in Meiers name at Buck's County Community College, according to his obituary. Donations may be sent to Bucks County Community College Foundation, Attention: Bill Meiers Scholarship Fund, 275 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
