Road Closings Announced For Newtown Holiday Parade
Parking will be limited during the parade and with road closures, motorists can expect delays, police said.

NEWTOWN, PA — The McCaffrey's Newtown Holiday Parade will result in several road closures in Newtown Borough and Newtown Township on Sunday, Dec. 8.
"If you are attending the parade, please arrive early," said police. "Parking will be limited. And with road closures motorists can expect delays."
The parade is scheduled to step off on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. from the Stocking Works on South State Street. It will then march north to Washington Avenue, make a left onto Washington and then a right onto Sycamore Street. The parade concludes at the corner of Sycamore Street and Durham Road.

The following parking restrictions begin at 11 a.m.
- No parking on South State Street from Penn to Washington (no exceptions)
- No parking on North Sycamore from Washington to Durham
- Motorists parked in the Newtown Borough Municipal Lots will only be able to exit via Centre Avenue and travel west toward Sycamore Street.
Road closures beginning at 1:20 p.m.

- Washington Avenue from Chancellor to Sycamore
- North Sycamore from Washington to Durham
- Jefferson Street Bridge will be closed
- Washington Avenue Bridge will be closed
- Centre Avenue Bridge will be closed at the start of the parade
Special note
For anyone planning to attend events at the Newtown Theatre, North State Street at Jefferson will be open for local traffic only.
