Road Closures Announced Ahead Of Shamrock Shuffle In Newtown

Some road closures have been announced ahead of Saturday's Shamrock Shuffle 5K in Newtown.

The temporary road closures will start at 8:45 a.m. Local businesses will be open and police from Newtown Borough and Township will be on hand to assist. The roads will reopen as soon as all participants cross the finish line, police said.

According to information from Newtown Borough Police, the road closures include:

• North State Street ( Washington Avenue – Edgeboro Drive )
• Greene Street ( North State Street – North Congress Street )
• Edgeboro Drive ( North State Street – Linton Hill Road )
• Frost Lane ( Edgeboro Drive – North Lincoln Avenue )
• Jefferson Street ( North Sycamore – North Lincoln )
• Liberty Street ( Washington Avenue – Jefferson Street )
• North Congress Street ( Washington Avenue – Frost Lane )
• North Chancellor Street ( Washington Avenue – Frost Lane )
• Federal Lane
• North Sycamore Street ( Newtown Township ) Road Closure time will be earlier for setup on this street.
