NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Newtown Township Police Department reports the following incidents and arrests:
August 12
- Police were dispatched around 8 a.m. for the report of a hit-and-run traffic accident. The investigation is ongoing at this time and charges are pending.
- At approximately 3:30 p.m. police were dispatched to the Newtown Bypass in the area of Buck Road for the report of a road rage incident. As a result of the investigation, one subject was charged with terroristic threats and possession of an instrument of crime.
- At approximately 3:45 p.m. police were dispatched to Provident Bank for the report of a fraud in progress. Upon arrival, police apprehended a subject. As a result of the investigation, the subject was charged, processed, and arraigned on charges of fraudulent use of a counterfeit access device and theft by unlawful taking.

- At approximately 2:30 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota Camry operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the Mill Pond Road and West Hanover Street area. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
August 18
- At approximately 3:15 p.m. police were dispatched to the Newtown Bypass in the area of Richboro Road for the report of a road rage incident, involving threats and harassment. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
August 21

- At approximately 2 a.m. police conducted a traffic stop on a Ford Escape operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the Mill PondRoad and Buck Road area. Upon contact with the operator, the officer detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage. The operator was unable to perform field sobriety tests satisfactorily and was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. Charges are pending blood evidence results.
August 22
- At approximately 2:30 p.m. police were dispatched to TD Bank for the report of a fraud in progress. Upon arrival, police apprehended two subjects. As a result of the investigation, the subjects were charged, processed, and arraigned on charges of forgery, fraudulent use of an access device, identity theft, and theft by unlawful taking.
- At approximately 8:30 p.m. police were dispatched to Acme Market for the report of a retail theft. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
August 23
- At approximately 2:30 p.m. police were dispatched to a Newtown Township residence for the report of a disturbance. As a result of the investigation, one subject was issued a citation for harassment.
- Police conducted a traffic stop at approximately 9:15 p.m. on a Ford Econoline operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the Newtown Bypass and Buck Road area. As a result of the investigation, the passenger was taken into custody on an active arrest warrant and was transferred into the custody of the Bucks County Sheriff’s Department. Suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia were also discovered and seized as evidence, and charges are pending evidence results.
August 24
- Police conducted a traffic stop at approximately 8:45 p.m. on a Nissan Altima operator for committing a vehicle code violation in the Newtown Bypass and Richboro Road area. As a result of the investigation, suspected narcotics were discovered and seized as evidence, and charges are pending evidence results.
