Shankweiler’s Drive-In Theater, located on Route 309 in Orefield, has operated seasonally since 1934. 

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Take a trip back in time and go check out the drive-in with the family. The drive-in offers a double feature for one ticket price.

From Friday, July 18 to July 24, "Planes: Fire and Rescue" begins at 8:50 p.m., followed by "Earth to Echo" at 10:35 p.m. Both films are rated PG.

The drive-in holds less than 300 cars and often fills up. Moviegoers are advised to arrive early to ensure a spot. The box office opens two and a half hours before weekend showtimes and an hour and a half before weekday showtimes.

Admission is $9 for adults and $6 for children 3 to 12. Children 3 and under are free. 

If you plan to go, remember these tips for a successful visit:

  • No pets allowed.
  • Glass bottles not permitted
  • Sitting on top of your car is not permitted
  • Grilling or cooking is not permitted
