Ryan Gallagher Appointed as Township Supervisors Chairman

Ryan Gallagher was appointed as chairman of the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors during a reorganization meeting Monday.

Gallagher, an attorney who was elected to the board in 2011, was appointed by a 3-2 party line vote.

Former chairman Mike Gallagher, who is not related to Ryan Gallagher, was appointed as vice chairman by the same vote, the Newtown Advance reported.

Republicans Mike Gallagher, Ryan Gallagher and Kyle Davis voted in favor of the appointments, while Democrats Jen Dix and Phil Calabro dissented.

The next supervisors meeting is Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 7:30 p.m.
