Saladworks Files for Bankruptcy

The Conshohocken-based chain has multiple locations throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Saladworks, the Conshohocken-based “fresh-tossed salad franchise concept,” has filed for bankruptcy.

The company, founded in 1986, is seeking Chapter 11 bankruptcy recognition in Delaware, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported. Saladworks is looking for a buyer or new investors.

Saladworks said it has been struggling to sell additional franchises because of litigation between majority owner John M. Scardapane and stakeholder Vernon W. Hill II, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The company said none of its locations or affiliates are involved in the bankruptcy and they will continue to operate normally, according to a press release.

The Conshohocken-based chain has locations throughout Bucks and Montgomery counties, including in Newtown, Warminster, Bensalem, Montgomeryville, Feasterville, Doylestown, Horsham, Southampton and more.
