Scam Alert: Woman Steals During Online Newtown Yard Sale Transaction, Police Say
Local police are reminding residents they can complete transactions in the police department parking lot, where there are security cameras.

A Newtown Township resident told police someone stole from her during a recent transaction through an online Newtown Yard Sale Facebook page.
According to police, the woman posted an item for sale on a local yard sale Facebook page. She told police she received a message from a woman in Doylestown who wanted to purchase the item. The two made arrangements for the woman to come to Newtown and complete the transaction, the police report said.
The two women met at the seller’s Newtown Township home and after the item was placed in the buyer’s car, she left without paying then blocked the seller from contacting her on Facebook, the police report said.
