School Board to Consider Clean Energy Grant, New Security Camera Software

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.

The Council Rock School Board will meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.

The following items are on the agenda:

  • The Board will consider applying for an Alternative and Clean Energy Grant through the PA Department of Community and Economic Development to offset the costs of construction at Newtown Middle School. The project qualifies for the grant because it will incorporate green building practices to achieve a LEED Gold rating.
  • The board will consider purchasing a new software program to operate security cameras installed last year at district schools. “We have exceeded our current software applications ability to maintain, manage, and provide useful data for our security staff. We are therefore recommending the purchase of a new program at a cost not to exceed $43,640.00 installed,” the agenda states.
  • Donations from the Council Rock Swimming and Diving Club and the CRSD Community Aquatics Program for the purchase of equipment and a new diving board will be accepted.
