Council Rock School Board Leans Toward Closing Rolling Hills Elementary
A formal motion is scheduled for July 20.

NEWTOWN, PA — The Council Rock School Board on Monday began to conclude a years-long debate over closing an elementary school, indicating its preference to shut Rolling Hill Elementary by the 2018-19 school year.
The consensus was reached during the final meeting the district's Master Capital Planning Committee. A formal vote on the motion will be held July 20, followed by procedural steps required to close the school, including a hearing and a three-month waiting period.
It caps months of meetings and discussions, which also weighed closing Wrightstown Elementary as an option. Wrightstown Elementary, long feared by residents there to be on the chopping block, seems safe following this recent development, however.
