SCHRIER CAPTURES STATE TITLE

INTERNATIONAL PAGEANT CROWNS NEWTOWN BUSINESS WOMAN AS MRS. PENNSYLVANIA INTERNATIONAL 2015

Newtown area resident, Cheryl Schrier, was recently crowned Mrs. Pennsylvania International 2015 in Altoona, PA and will represent the Keystone State at the Mrs. International Pageant on July 20-25th at the Time Union Morgan Theater in Jacksonville, Florida.  She will compete to win the prestigious title of Mrs. International 2015 and the opportunity to globally promote her platform. 

Titleholders in the International pageant system spend their year of service promoting their platform.  A part of her personal and professional life, Cheryl will continue to promote her platform “Combating Homelessness.”  As a volunteer for the Bucks County Emergency Homeless Shelter owned and operated by Family Service Association of Bucks County, she utilizes her small business as a vehicle through which she educates and engages her employees, customer and vendors to join in combating homelessness.   She served in a leadership and design role during the Buck Up Bucks campaign to build a new shelter kitchen, and volunteers along with her family at the shelter.  Her goal is inspire other small business owners locally, statewide and globally to adopt a charity that combats acute and chronic homelessness and the root causes.

A registered nurse by background with a passion to serve, Schrier is currently Vice President of Newtown based Building Control Systems & Services, Inc., an electrical contracting firm specializing in controls installation.  She is also Managing Member of 103 N State, LLC and serves as President of the Atrium at Newtown Condominium Association.   “My aspiration is to be an inspiration to others.  Bringing my years of successful business management to light, surviving thyroid cancer and then losing 65 pounds as well as seeing an opportunity to promote my passion for combating homelessness, I felt compelled to compete and share my story.”

Contestants compete in Interview Competition, which is valued at 50% of her overall score, Evening Gown, valued at 25% and Fitness Wear for 25%.  Each contestant also presents her platform on-stage and responds to a platform related question as a part of the competition.  Husbands are a direct part of the show, escorting their wives in the Evening Gown competition, and the husband crowns his wife as titleholder. 

Cheryl enjoys target shooting, golfing, biking, fishing, vegetable gardening and healthy cooking, and resides in Upper Makefield Township with her husband and business partner Tom.  They have two children ages 27 and 20.
