UPPER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA —Authorities said that they will attempt to resume search efforts Thursday to find two children missing from Saturday's flash flooding that claimed the lives of five people after being delayed a day by weather, authorities said.

After saying the search would be delayed again Thursday due to weather, the Upper Makefield Township Police Department updated its statement Thursday morning that they will "try to resume" their search for 2-year-old Mattie and 9-month-old Conrad Sheils.

"Mother Nature has heard all of your prayers and we are trying to resume the search for Mattie and Conrad," police said.

Police said they have K9 teams from the Philadelphia Police Department on the scene assisting them and a large piece of equipment assisting in moving debris to help the K9 teams do their search.

"We are continuing to monitor the river and when the conditions allow, we will have dive teams respond again and conduct their search," police said. "Unfortunately, we do not anticipate that occurring today."

Police had said that due to fog and storms Thursday that weather conditions would impede search efforts.

The Upper Makefield Police Department said Sunday that the area was hit with a torrential rainstorm, which caused flash flooding along several areas throughout the township.

The worst of the flooding occurred along Rt. 532 in the area of Stonebridge Crossing Road between Aqueduct Road and Wrightstown Road.

Police said the flash flooding caught numerous motorists by surprise and many were trapped with the flood victims getting swept away in Houghs Creek.

Bucks County Coroner Meredith Buck released the names of the five flood victims Monday, including three from Newtown Township.
