Severe storms, including the threat of high winds and hail, are possible Sunday night across Eastern Pennsylvania, the National Weather Service is warning.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for the region. The NWS warns of "damaging winds and large hail." The storms are most likely to arrive in the evening, after 5 p.m., according to forecasters.

The potential storms kick off what looks to be a week of unsettled weather throughout the region.

There are several chances of storms through Thursday.

"There is potential for severe storms Monday and flooding may become more of a problem with time across the area should repeated rounds of storms affect the area," the NWS said in its Hazardous Weather Outlook.

Thunderstorms remain in the forecast daily through Thursday.

Today: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Southwest wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 2am, then a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a low around 66. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming light west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Monday: A slight chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
