“Shir Ami wanted to give back to the community and, after learning about the statistics of those in need locally, thought this would be a nice way to help those that cannot afford to feed their families.  Many of these people are right in our own backyards,” said organizer Stacie Mishler.

The course takes runners throughout the park, and participants will finish the race with light refreshments.  This timed 5K will take runners on a beautiful tree-lined USA Track and Field certified course, explained Jamie Karp, who is on the race committee.

Custom tile awards will be given out to winners in different age groups. Plus, local restaurant Palate will be serving up delicious snacks, Karp said.

Early registration is available online at $20 for the 5K through June 8.  After that, registration goes up to $25. Same-day registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
