Skateboarders Enjoy Reopened Park

Newtown's Skate Park reopened last week after being closed for more than two months due to noise complaints.

At long last, the Newtown Skate Park has reopened. And skaters took full advantage of it Monday. The weather was optimal for outdoor recreation and several skaters took to the ramps.

Township officials closed the park in March after noise complaints from residents of the Tyler Walk community.

Various noise remedies, including ramp enclosures and spray foam, were implemented to deafen the noise.

A sound study was also done to gauge how much noise was coming from the park. The results of that study have not yet been released.
