From Snow To 70s: Pa. Warmup On The Way

It may be lightly snowing now, but that's not going to last. The warmest air of the year is on its way to Pennsylvania.

A significant warm up is in the forecast and will arrive by early next week. Temperatures will be 20 to 25 degrees above average on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Accuweather.

But first, some more winter weather. Light snow is possible Saturday but little or no accumulation is expected.

"After a blast of chilly air across the East over the weekend, temperatures will be off to the races for the first part of next week as a strong southwesterly flow brings warmer air northward," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski said.

Temperatures will creep up Monday with highs in the mid 50s expected. Then on Tuesday and Wednesday, the real spring tease arrives. Tuesday's high temperature in the Philadelphia region will be in the upper 60s. On Wednesday, we will likely hit a high in the 70s.

Here is the five-day forecast:

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. North wind 5 to 8 mph.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 43. Light and variable wind.

Saturday Night: A chance of snow after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 30. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Sunday: A slight chance of rain and snow before 9am, then a slight chance of rain between 9am and noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 47. North wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 47.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.
