Spring Cleanup On Saturday At Tyler State Park In Newtown

The Friends of Tyler State Park have also scheduled a free talk on "Shrinking the Lawn."

NEWTOWN, PA — The Friends of Tyler State Park have announced several upcoming events at the park, including a spring clean-up day and a free program on enhancing habitat and creating more wildlife-friendly environments.

The public is invited to join the Friends of Tyler State Park on Saturday, March 21, for a spring clean-up day at the park. Volunteers are asked to meet at 1 p.m. at the boathouse.

Participants are asked to bring water, gloves, trash pickers (if you have them), and sturdy footwear. Trash bags and extra supplies will be provided. Interested scout troops can contact btobin@pa.gov for more information.

Looking ahead, on Wednesday, March 25, beginning at 6 p.m at the park office, the Friends of Tyler present a free talk, "Shrinking the Lawn - Less Lawn, More Friends."

The program will focus on strategies to improve habitat and create more wildlife-friendly environments in our communities. Open discussion is encouraged. Free resources and door prizes will be available.
