Stockburger Chevrolet Showroom Nearing Demolition
This is just one phase of the South State Street project. The second phase is still moving through the approval process.

A new look is coming to South State Street.
Developer Allan Smith is awaiting a demolition permit so he can take down the former Stockburger Chevrolet showroom and begin redevelopment of the first phase of the Steeple View redevelopment project, the Advance reported.
The first phase of the project includes the construction of a three-story building with retail and residential uses at the former Stockburger site on South State Street. The first phase was approved by the borough in 2013.

Preliminary and final land development approvals are still needed for the second phase, which includes additional retail and a town square in the area behind the Starbucks and Newtown Hardware House.
In late October, the borough’s Zoning Hearing Board granted approval for the major redevelopment project, which includes 12 mixed-use buildings, a parking garage and a creek walk.
