Student Art Show in Newtown

Come in from the rain and enjoy artwork created by 32 students from the Newtown area on display at Countryside Gallery!

There is still time to come out and support these talented young artists whose work will remain on display now through June 1st at Countryside Gallery on State Street in Newtown. Admission is free.

The opening day “Meet the Artists” reception on Saturday May 14th was a big success as family, friends and members of the community gathered to view the work of 32 aspiring young artists from the Newtown area. The students’ artwork is currently being showcased at the Spring Youth Art Show hosted by Countryside Gallery at Washington and State in the heart of historic Newtown, now through June 1st.

Visitors at the reception enjoyed refreshments provided by Countryside Gallery owners Michael Hammer, Richard Fekete, and the students’ art instructor Bonnie Porter as they viewed the work by participating students Camryn Blauth, Connor Boucher, Kayleigh Burke, Isabella Cacciatore, Erin Casey, Allison Cirillo, Victoria Cirillo, Taylor Dahms, Mandi Gardner, Anthony Kelly, Olivia Kelly, Jason Khaytin, Brady Klein, Addison Kohler, Emily LaPlante, Anna Lee, Hanna Lipski, Kate Logan, Lily Logan, Abbie Lustig, Jessica Martin, Elena Miller, Grace Porter, Sarah Porter, Nolan Riesenberger, Gabi Smith, Isabella Starsinic, Abby Steadman, Erin Stone, Katie Sukunda, Anna Williamson, Sarah Williamson.

The students, who are all age 8-18, work in various fine art mediums including pencil, pastel, watercolor, and acrylic painting. The art students are very excited to be sharing their work with the community, and grateful to be given this opportunity by the art gallery!   Countryside Gallery's hours are Monday through Wednesday 10 am to 6 pm, Thursday through Saturday 10 am to 7pm, and Sunday 11 am to 4pm.
