Tavern Trivia Night Promises Fun Night Out At Newtown's Half-Moon Inn

NEWTOWN, PA — Think you know your history, pop culture, sports, music and movies?

The Newtown Historic Association is inviting residents to put their knowledge to the test at Tavern Trivia Night, taking place Friday, Sept. 25, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Newtown’s historic Half-Moon Inn, 105 Court Street.

The evening promises a fun mix of friendly competition, challenging questions, drinks, snacks and great prizes—all in one of Newtown’s most historic settings.

Guests are encouraged to form a team and come ready to compete. Trivia questions will cover a wide range of subjects, including pop culture, history, sports, music and movies, so there should be something for everyone at the table.

The setting itself adds a special twist to the evening. The Half-Moon Inn, also known as the Court Inn, dates to 1733, when Joseph Thornton established a tavern on the site. The inn became a popular gathering place when Newtown was the Bucks County seat and has remained an important part of the borough’s history. Today, it serves as the headquarters of the Newtown Historic Association.

“Tavern Night” is also a longstanding part of the Newtown Historic Association’s special events programming, bringing the community together in an historic space for an evening that is as much about enjoying Newtown as it is about celebrating its past.
