Theatre Teams Up With Newtown Bookshop For 'Page To Screen' Series

Three films will be shown based on a bestselling or beloved book from the collection at the Newtown Bookshop.

NEWTOWN, PA — The historic Newtown Theatre and the Newtown Bookshop have teamed up for a monthly “Page to Screen” series of movies.

Each film will be based on a bestselling or beloved book. At the end of each movie, one lucky winner will go home with the book on which that night’s movie is based.

These are the films that will be screened in the first few months of 2026:

  • "The Housemaid” – February 10 at 7:30 p.m. – Millie, a young woman with a troubled past, takes a live-in housekeeper job with the wealthy Winchester family, only to discover their seemingly perfect household is filled with manipulation, dark secrets and dangerous power plays.
  • “Hidden Figures” – March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Three brilliant African American women at NASA play vital roles in launching astronaut John Glenn into orbit. Their perseverance and intelligence shatter racial and gender barriers during the height of the space race.
  • “The Martian” – April 9 at 7:30 p.m. – After a storm forces his crew to evacuate Mars, astronaut Mark Watney is left behind and presumed dead. Using ingenuity and humor, he fights to survive on the barren planet while NASA and his crewmates race to bring him home.

Tickets for this event are available at TheNewtownTheatre.com or at the Newtown Theatre box office 30 minutes before screen time for $14/adults, $12/seniors and students, and $8 for theatre members.
