These Pennsylvania Universities Are Among The Best In The World, New Ranking Says

U.S. News & World report released a new set of rankings designating the best global universities, and the United States leads the way with some of the best higher education institutions in the world. Among the universities ranked as the best global universities by U.S. News, it comes as no surprise that several of those schools are right here in Pennsylvania.

University of Pennsylvania was the top-ranked Pennsylvania school on the list, coming in 19th. University of Pittsburgh was next in the Keystone State, coming in 48th.

The rankings evaluated 1,250 universities on the list across 74 countries and 221 American universities made the list. To come up with the rankings, U.S. News first created a pool of universities using various sources, including a global reputation survey. The rankings were then calculated using 13 indicators and weights that U.S. News chose to measure global research performance. (You can see the full methodology here.)
